"I would like to tell you a little bit about my best friend. Her name is Beulah and she is hands down the best dog that ever was. I know most people say that about their dog but it really is true! When I first picked her up at 8 weeks old I promised her that I would give her the best life I could. And from that moment on, she has never left my side. I have never made much money as a dog walker but the work has enabled us to spend our days together and for me to make sure that my girl was the most socialized and active Berner that ever was. For three years we worked the morning shift at a local doggy daycare together. When my boyfriend got a job he couldn't pass up in New York, Beulah and I packed up the car and drove across the country together. Two years later when my boyfriend and I broke up it was Beulah who traveled back across the country with me. it was Beulah who helped me recover from the brake-up coaxing me out of the house with trips to the park and the ocean. And it was she who made me smile again with her crazy belly flops in to the ocean that made her a well-known sensation! It is still just the two of us, working together all day and cuddling at night.

Hopefully, this gives you an idea of the kind of dog Beulah is and just how much she means to me. She is my best friend. It broke my heart when I found out she needed surgery that I can't afford. I am looking for any kind of relief that you can bestow. I am also willing to do any kind of volunteer work that you might need. I have assorted artistic and clerical skills so please let me know if there's anyway I can contribute.

"Update March 1st 2010 - Dear BEHAF Board Members, I would like to thank you SO much for your financial help with my berner Beulah. I still can't believe that you guys exist! You are like Angels! Beulah is feeling better and is starting to be able to play and run again. Nothing makes me happier than to see that! Everyone who knows us calls Beulah "Bionic Beulah" because of her fantastic new knee! And we definitively have you to thank for that. Again, thank you so much. I will never forget your generosity. Update March 19th 2010 - Beulah is doing wonderfully! It's been just over a year since she had her surgery and it's amazing how far she's come. She is back to running and leaping and swimming and generally being the happiest dog I've ever met! Thank you, thank you, thank you for existing and helping me out!
