My six year old BMD Punkin Pie tore her CCL a few weeks ago. We're not exactly sure how she did it, but likely sometime when she was running around and jumping around. Last week she had a lateral suture embracation -metal wire holding her knee together. She is recovering nicely and doing better each day. It is important that she heal so she can be comfortable as she also deals with hip dysplasia. I hope you will consider helping us as we did the right thing and addressed Punkin's injury in a timely fashion so she doesn't develop painful arthritis. We love the breed and will likely give back to BEHAF or the BMDCA when we are in a position in the future.
Many thanks,
Margaret and Punkin Pie
Update March 2nd 2010 - Punkin has been an absolutely wonderful pet for me and my family. After her knee surgery she didn't go anywhere very fast. Then in about four weeks she was looking a lot better. Today she runs and plays quite happily. The surgery seemed to have helped her a great deal. She is no longer in pain and limping.
Thank you BEHAF for easing some of the financial burden of a costly operation!
Cheers,
Margaret Harriff
